Remote math tutoring on a smartphone

How does Yup work?

The Yup Math Tutoring App is built for students on their platform of choice – smartphones!

Our app combines secure 1:1 messaging with whiteboard collaboration, enabling students and tutors to solve problems together in a private virtual classroom.

Submit a math problem

Students simply open the Yup app on their mobile device, take a picture of their math problem, and answer three quick questions to personalize their tutoring experience.

Connect to a tutor

Our app instantly matches students with the best tutor for their problem. While students wait, typically less than 60 seconds, the Yup Bot shares tips and asks questions to tailor the session further.

Message and learn

The Yup Math Tutoring App securely enables students and tutors to communicate and solve problems in a virtual classroom. Tutors use an interactive whiteboard to annotate problems and illustrate concepts.

Interactive Communication

Students and tutors communicate through Yup’s secure app, using tools like messaging, photo sharing, and a virtual whiteboard to collaborate. Tutors use the virtual whiteboard to annotate problems, provide examples, and send math concept flashcards in real time.

Smart Matching™

Yup’s Smart Matching™ technology connects students to the best tutor for their needs so that sessions are personalized and effective. Smart Matching takes into consideration tutor subject area expertise, student’s previous experience with specific tutors, and tutor availability.

Session Notes

Yup students can easily access and revisit all of their previous tutoring sessions in the app. Reviewing sessions is a great way to brush up on math concepts while studying or doing homework.

Yup Family Portal

Every Yup account includes access to the Yup Family Portal, a one-stop destination to view student tutoring sessions, update account details, and get support resources.
